The background check is a key milestone to helping candidates get hired. Employers engage HireRight to conduct background verifications on their behalf. Please note that HireRight does not make the hiring decision, and cannot provide you with details as to the reasoning behind your prospective employer’s hiring decision. For the status of your candidacy for employment, you should contact the hiring company directly.
For some employers HireRight also conducts re-screening of existing employees. This is usually a reduced version of the original background check and focuses on the information that may change during your employment (e.g. criminal records and/or financial standing). The main reason behind re-screening existing employees is to comply with requirements from an industry regulator.
